At a glance
- Dr. VR Wellness used Formulaite to develop a clinical-literature-backed supplement formula.
- Simulaite then provided mechanistic and in silico pharmacokinetic technical support for that formula.
- The program is now in clinical trials led by Dr. Vinod Kumar Rustgi through Genelife Clinical Research.
- More than $100K in alternative pharmacokinetic study cost was avoided with in silico modeling while the program advanced into clinical trials.
The challenge
Dr. VR Wellness was not looking for a shortcut around clinical validation. The team was going above and beyond by moving the product into a clinical trial led by Dr. Vinod Kumar Rustgi through Genelife Clinical Research.
The challenge was earlier in the product-development stack: build the supplement formula from clinical literature, choose actives with a clear rationale, and create a mechanistic support package without also spending six figures on a separate pharmacokinetic study path.
How Formulaite worked with Dr. VR Wellness
The Dr. VR Wellness team led the product vision. Formulaite helped translate clinical literature into the supplement formulation itself: candidate active reasoning, dose logic, endpoint fit, and the scientific rationale behind the product.
After the formulation work, Simulaite modeled the expected exposure profile, pharmacological behavior at the proposed dose, and mechanistic rationale for the endpoint being pursued in the trial. That in silico output helped the team avoid the separate PK study path while still investing in the clinical trial itself.
Why it mattered
Formulaite supported both sides of the scientific package: the clinical-literature-based supplement formulation and the Simulaite modeling layer. That let Dr. VR Wellness avoid the cost of a separate PK study route while still investing in the clinical trial as the higher standard of evidence.
The collaboration also fit the scientific frame of Dr. Vinod Kumar Rustgi, whose published work spans hepatology, AI and machine learning applications in liver disease, and computational approaches to disease modeling.
What to know
Dr. VR Wellness is investing in a live clinical trial for the product. Formulaite helped build the literature-backed supplement formula and used Simulaite to provide the in silico pharmacokinetic evidence that avoided a separate six-figure PK study path.
